Seeking Volunteer Mentors

Carroll Mentoring is a new grant-funded program through the Carroll County Youth Service Bureau in partnership with the Carroll County Local Management Board.  This program is an exciting initiative designed to promote social competency and success with 13-18 year oldsthrough the use of a positive relationship, built on the matching of a highly trained adult mentor to a youth mentee.

Think back to a place in your own life when someone - a teacher, coach, neighbor - took an active interest in what you were doing and how that made you feel special.  A good mentor is one with a big heart, a listening ear, and a compassionate posture to encourage, support, and be an influencing role model to a youth who may not have such an adult in his or her life.  Please take a moment to think about the impactyou could have in a young person’s life by just being there to listen, talk, and share.  Consider yourself, as well as anyone else (friends, family, co-workers, neighbors) you think has the interest to develop a supportive relationship with an at-risk youth.  Carroll Mentoring welcomes mentors from civic organizations, the faith-based community, businesses, schools, corporations, etc… and we are excited to launch this program with help from community-minded people like you!
